The main objective of the project was to increase thermal efficiency of the building and to reduce the demand for electricity and power needed to heat the building.

The building works comprised exterior walls insulation with polystyrene, ceilings and roof with mineral wool, also flashings and drainpipes were done. New high energy efficiency performance windows and doors were fitted as well. Hot water and central heating installations were modernised with 346 steel radiators equipped with thermostatic valves and almost 4 thousand metres of new pipeline. The old coal boiler was replaced with a new ecological gas boiler of 425 kW. The roof was fitted with 40 soalr panels, which will partially cater for hot water supply in the building. Mechanical supply-exhaust ventilation was installed which involved fitting central ventilation, throttles, roof hoods and launchers. To facilitate the life of DPS residents air-conditioners were fitted in some rooms.

The works realised within the framework of thermomodernisation of the building totaling almost 2 mln PLN were part of Jarocin District investment estimated approximately 10 mln PLN. The contractor for the thermomodernisation works was “Przedsiębiorstwo Budowlano-Handlowe Stanisłąw Hadrzyński.
